FSC Magazine

WordPress Magazine Website Creative Freelancers
Services

As the developer for the Future Strategy Club creative agnency, I've worked on several projects with FSC in the past, so naturally when they needed their magazine website taken from Squarespace and moved over to WordPress they came to me.

I recommended that we identified unique modules which would allow us to recreate the home page in WordPress and give the client the power to customise, add, remove and rearrange the modules to suit. Allowing them to change the content on the home page each time a new issue of the magazine is published.

Each module can be easily customised to with the following:

  • Black or white text
  • Black or white buttons with reverse hover colours
  • Image, colour or video background
  • Select article(s) to be automatically pull in and populate module
  • Select issue
  • Alignment left, centre or right
  • One or two columns
  • Full screen image
  • The list goes on!

I created custom content types in the CMS, one for articles and one for issues, so the client can create articles and assign them to an issue, then on the issues page the index is automatically populated by the articles which have been assigned to each issue.

When a module pulls in the content from an article, it will take the article title, excerpt, author and featured image - all the user needs to do is select the article they want to be pulled in and any customisations to the presentation they'd like to make.

The user can repeat modules i.e. use each module as many times as they want, in any order and remove them when things change, giving them full control over the look and feel of their website.
